Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program.

Activities promote environmental and historical awareness, conservation and recreation.

NOTICE: Effective October 1, 2025, all payments made with a credit or debit card (online or in-person) will incur a 3.0% service fee. This fee is assessed and collected by the credit card processor, not by Palm Beach County. No service fee will be assessed on payments made by check or cash. Service fees are non-refundable.

MONTHLY

NATURALIST WALKS
Thursdays, 1:00 p.m. 
All ages, FREE (Reservations required)
Join naturalists each week for a 1-hour guided walk exploring the trails of Riverbend Park. It’s a great way to become familiar with the plant and animal communities and trails of the park. Call 561-741-1359 to reserve a spot.

REPTILE ENCOUNTERS
Wednesdays, 2:30 p.m. 
All ages, FREE (Reservations required)
Join naturalists each week for a short meet & greet with one of our resident reptile ambassadors.

BATTLEFIELD TOURS
Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. (October –​ May)
All ages, FREE (Reservations not required)
Join a Loxahatchee Battlefield Preservationist docent on a battlefield tour and learn of the Second Seminole War battles that occurred here.​

SEPTEMBER

HUM ON OVER: WORLD HUMMINGBIRD DAY POLLINATOR HIKE
Saturday, September 5, 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Ages 5+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Celebrate World Hummingbird Day by exploring the incredible world of hummingbirds and their role as pollinators! Join a naturalist on a guided hike through Riverbend’s trails as we search for hummingbirds, discover the native plants that attract them and learn how these tiny birds help our ecosystems thrive.

THE OTTER SIDE OF RIVERBEND!
Thursday, September 17, 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
All ages, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Celebrate National Sea Otter Awareness Week by exploring the world of River Otters! Discover what makes these playful mammals unique, learn about the freshwater habitats they call home and uncover the important role they play in Florida’s ecosystems. Through hands-on activities and exploration, become an Official River Otter Habitat Builder and learn how you can help protect these amazing animals.

FAMILY NIGHT HIKE
Friday, September 18, 7:00 p.m.
All ages, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Join us for an enchanting Family Night Hike under the stars! This guided adventure led by experienced naturalists is perfect for families looking to explore the wonders of nature after dusk. Good walking shoes, water, a flashlight and bug spray are recommended.

ARCHERY 101
Saturday, September 19, 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Join USA Archery certified staff to learn a new skill! This exciting program teaches archery safety and how to properly use the equipment before getting to practice on the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.

OPEN RANGE ARCHERY
Saturday, September 19, 11:00 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
This program is offered to participants who attended and successfully completed a basic archery course at Riverbend Park.
Join USA Archery certified staff to hone your archery skills! Participants will shoot at different targets, and a basic safety review will be conducted before heading to the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children. Call 561-741-1359 to reserve a spot.

RIVERBEND PARK VISITS THE ACREAGE BRANCH LIBRARY: WILD WETLANDS: MEET WETLAND ANIMALS FROM RIVERBEND PARK!

All ages, FREE (Registration required)
Join Riverbend Park and our wetland animal ambassadors at the Acreage Library to explore Florida’s incredible wetlands! SECRET LIFE OF PLANTS WALK: BRANCHING OUT
Saturday, September 26, 9:30 a.m.
Ages 5+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Celebrate World Arbor Day at Riverbend Park by exploring the incredible world of Florida's native trees and shrubs! Through a guided walk and hands-on biofacts, participants will learn how to identify common native tree and shrub species, discover the different parts of a tree and explore the important roles these plants play in providing food, shelter and habitat for wildlife.
